In acelasi an, acest asezamant s-a transformat in institutie scolara destinata pregatirii teoretice elementare si profesionale a deficientilor vizuali.

Short english presentation

In 1936, in Buzau County was founded “The Institution for the protection of minor blind people”, after dissolving “The Asylum for Partially Sighted People” from Ungheni, Iasi County. That for a long time, The Ministry of Health reached to the conclusion:

The partially sighed persons may represent real “elements” useful for the society, as long as they are well taught. The asylum provided them workshops where they could learn how to process brushes. The results were unsatisfactory. These were the main reasons that determined the dissolution of the asylum.
The organization and management of the Institution were entrusted to the teacher Constantin Rasmerita. The taking charge of the new-comers took place at the end of May, so that the section for adults began to function on the 1st of June 1936.

The institution included girls and boys of all ages. After a while, it turned into the special school for girls and functioned in the building of the present school number 5, then in the building of the Economic High-school. The school included a boarding school, 9 classrooms, as well as a kindergarten.
In 1970, the management of the Economic High-school, that was functioning in the present theological seminary, performed the revendication of the building situated in Bistritei street. Subsequently it was decided to move the school to Ramnicu Sarat. This decision dissatisfies both the teachers living in Buzau and the blind persons that came in great number for new accomodation and shelter.
We should mention the headmaster Burloi for the investments regarding the construction of the schools. Thus. he approves the foundation of a special place for “partially sighted children”. The project is designed by the architecture Institute and by architect Manolache.
Two separated buildings are designed: the school and the boarding school. The school included 16 classrooms. During the construction, new decisions are made:
The project is supplemented by a sports hall and a connecting corridor between the two buildings. The moving took place on the 1st of September 1976.

During the last period the school has benefited from great progress and improvements of the teaching conditions, by endowing both the laboratories and the classrooms.
